Description

The June 2017 deadline has now passed. This entry will be updated as soon as details of the next round of funding are announced
Our PhD studentship scheme provides funding over 3 years to students based at a UK higher education institution.
Students receive:
– a stipend of £16,000 per year (or £17,000 per year if in London)
– full PhD tuition fees (at the UK/EU rate)
– a contribution of up to £10,000 per year towards research costs
Students from outside of the EU are welcome to apply for this scheme on a full fee paying basis.
Supervisors should contact their university’s research office regarding fees for overseas students.
Eligibility
The PhD studentship scheme does not cover funding gaps for PhD students whose studies have already started.
Home and overseas students must have a first or upper second class honours degree in a relevant subject.
Applications must be made by the potential student’s supervisor, who must be based at a UK university, hospital or research institute.
In 2015, we received 22 applications and awarded 3 grants.
