Backed by research
Our courses are underpinned by a wide range of nationally and internationally recognised research. More than half of our research is world-leading or internationally excellent – REF 2022.
Our research centres cover agricultural science, sustainability, social science, animal health, behaviour and welfare, food innovation, technology and more. You will learn from and with academics at the cutting edge of modern land, farm, food and business issues. Our research brings together staff and students to tackle the biggest problems our world faces. You don’t just learn about industry here, you’re part of it.
Outstanding facilities
Since it was founded in 1901, Harper Adams has been designed to meet the growing demands on our planet and its resources, and our campus continues to deliver – from our 494-hectare Future Farm to our £8 million Veterinary Education Centre. We also now have a Digital Skills Hub in the centre of Telford.
In our laboratories we have everything from molecular diagnostic facilities to food processing suites, so you’ll be well equipped to experiment. Our Agricultural Engineering Innovation Hub is home to crop-spraying drones, life-saving technology – we have even run a Hands Free Farm, sowing, tending and harvesting crops autonomously. We don’t just dream up new ideas and innovations here – we build them.
A degree that suits you
Our degrees are moulded to support their industries – but it’s important they also support you too, and your future career. Our postgraduate routes include PgC, PgD, MSc, MEng, MProf and MRes qualifications, so there’s plenty to choose from at varying levels.
We offer both full and part-time routes to suit your needs and commitments.

What our students say
“I chose this course because it was an exciting opportunity. As the only course of its kind in the UK and a great university at the forefront of agriculture, I knew this was the right choice for me…. It is an intense learning curve and a real challenge, but life is all about challenges! Upon graduation I hope to have the full skill set to utilise data within the agriculture sector to provide solutions that will pave the way to global food security – and it’ll be all thanks to Harper.” George Wager, Graduate, MSc Data Science
“I was excited to get started because for Applied Nematology, the researchers here at Harper Adams are world leaders…you cannot talk about Nematology without talking about Harper’s postgraduate team. Doing a PhD, it’s not about how smart you are, it’s about liking the work that you are doing and wanting to acquire deeper knowledge.” Vongai Chekanai, PhD Research Applied Nematology
