MSc Creative Technologies
Our MSc Creative Technologies allows you to combine your passion for creative art and design with digital technologies on this master's degree in creative technologies. Based at Winchester School of Art (WSA), we'll prepare you for a range of careers in the arts and technology sectors.
You'll develop your creative and technical skills in systems thinking and design. You'll learn through projects where you'll design and build immersive digital experiences. These experiences will go beyond digital screen formats to include fabrication, textiles and 3D printing.
MA Fine Art
Develop your individual practice in the diverse, supportive and critically engaged studio environment on our MA Fine Art course. You’ll have your own dedicated studio space to experiment with new materials and techniques. Here you’ll expand the range of your creative practice, hone existing skills, and consolidate your own artistic position.
You’ll have the opportunity to take regular field trips to current exhibitions by leading international artists. This course works closely with the John Hansard Gallery in Southampton, which is a university partner and one of the UK’s leading contemporary art galleries.
MA Contemporary Curating
Our Contemporary Curating course gives you the theoretical, research and practical skills to work as a curator anywhere in the world. You’ll get professional experience managing projects in the Winchester Gallery, with unique access to the University’s vast network of practising artists, academics and researchers who will inform and inspire your curatorial practice.
By studying this MA in curating you’ll have the opportunity to:
- curate compelling art exhibitions based on research across disciplines and discourses
- develop critical thinking to collate and curate artworks which challenge the audience
- understand the current concerns and limitations of contemporary curation and culture
- get hands-on experience from practical workshops in object-handling and setting up exhibitions using lighting and tools
- attend visits to local and London-based art exhibitions where you’ll question and debate different curatorial approaches
MA Arts & Cultural Leadership
The MA Arts and Cultural Leadership, is an innovative one-year programme. Through engaging with diverse industry partners, and exploring concepts and creative practices, you will understand and shape the role of arts and culture as a creative and critical change-making and futures-making practice.
MA Digital Media
Our MA Digital Media degree course offers a distinctive blend of critical and creative approaches to digital media and media studies.
