Our graduates have charted fulfilling career paths as Ecologists, Hydrometry and Telemetry Officers, Benthic Taxonomists, and Wildlife and Education Officers, showcasing the diverse and impactful opportunities available in the field. You will be taught by a range of inspiring biosciences experts, including Dr Richard Unsworth, an adviser on the BBC’s globally renowned series Blue Planet II; and Professor Carlos Garcia de Leaniz, an expert in salmonid behaviour, conservation and ecology and leads the multi-partner European AMBER project.
Students can benefit from our state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, including the Centre for Sustainable Aquatic Research consisting of controlled environment laboratories, with programmable recirculating aquatic systems. We also have The R.V. Mary Anning, our £1.3 million purpose-built 18-metre catamaran-class survey vessel which can carry 26 passengers to conduct research activities in Swansea Bay and further afield. It has a globally unique visualisation centre that displays multi-dimensional information from animal tracking data.
We have influential connections with international and national organisations such as Natural Resources Wales, The British Mammal Society and The National Wetlands Centre Wales to add value to your studies.
