Course Description

Aimed at students looking to top-up a postgraduate HRM qualification with a research project and graduate with a Masters degree.
The MSc in HRM (Blended) Top-up is a nine-month programme which aims to develop knowledge, competencies and professional skills that help learners address the challenges facing modern organisations. It is solely focused on the completion of a Masters dissertation, allowing you time to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise around research methods and your dissertation topic.

We’re delighted to have teamed up with Acacia Learning, DPG and ICS Learn to deliver this programme.

The programme underlines the importance of practice-based learning and research by enabling you to investigate an HR issue that is located in a real work situation.

Edinburgh Napier University has been supporting students to undertake the MSc in Human Resource Management (HRM) for over 25 years. During that time the University has received commendations of good practice from the UK professional body, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), for their innovative and rigorous approach to design and delivery of the dissertation. Entry Requirements

The entry requirement for this course is a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management or CIPD Level 7 Diploma in Human Resource Management or Human Resource Development.

It also aims to develop knowledge, competencies and professional skills that will help you address the challenges facing modern organisations. By the end of the programme you should be able to:

  • Apply diagnostic and analytical skills in a research and workplace context
  • Recognise appropriate management research methodologies and scholarship in HRM
  • Integrate theory and practice to analyse a range of workplace issues
  • Apply original application of knowledge, and demonstrate a practical understanding of how research is used to create and interpret knowledge in the field of business management and HRM
