The Liverpool Screen School at LJMU is a leading provider of education and professional training in the media, journalism, performing arts and writing. The School has two main research clusters: Journalism, Media and Communication, and Culture, Identity and Policy. Within these areas our research teams explore a range of fields, from film studies to best practice within journalism.
We have a well-earned international reputation for our expertise on journalism ethics, and this informed the Leveson Inquiry, which examined the culture, practices and ethics of the press.
Our teaching and support team are dedicated to ensuring learning and research experiences meet student expectations, and that graduates stand out in the jobs market.
We have strong links with local, national and international companies and institutions, including the BBC, ITV, Trinity Mirror, Lime Pictures, Classic FM, ZUMC in Hangzhou and the Institute of the Arts, Barcelona. We also organise the Liverpool Film Seminar series and are involved in Sound City, Doc/Fest and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. These partnerships offer a wealth of opportunities for staff and students.
