LJMU’s Public Health Institute is a vibrant research and teaching community working at a local, regional, national and international level. The Institute is home to an innovative, evidenced-based portfolio of taught programmes and internationally renowned research.
Studying public health at this world-class research institute enables you to experience applied public health research first hand. All students on our postgraduate taught programmes study together and have access to staff support, irrespective of route and mode of study. You can also take part in research networking events organised through the Centre, including postgraduate student-led seminar/presentations and monthly Research in Focus seminars.
Full-time students have the opportunity to develop their research skills working alongside experienced senior research staff on a placement in the Institute. Many of our students already work in a public health, health or social care context whilst others have less experience and aim to hone their skills and knowledge to begin their career in this area. Staff are always happy to support students in gaining placements and voluntary work experience.
